Damyang Metasequoia Road
A long avenue lined with tall dawn redwoods — a landscape that changes with every season.
Planted as roadside saplings in the 1970s, the dawn redwoods now form a corridor nearly two kilometres long. The road is closed to cars, so it is walked or cycled slowly: bright green in summer, rust-orange in November, bare and graphic in winter.
Wetlands, bamboo forests, tree-lined roads and green tea fields make Jeollanam-do an easy place to slow down.
