Suncheonman Wetland
A vast reed wetland crossed by boardwalks, changing colour with the seasons and the tide.
One of the world's best-preserved coastal wetlands, Suncheonman is a landscape of tidal mudflats and reed beds that shelters hooded cranes and thousands of migratory birds each winter. Boardwalks run out into the reeds, and the climb to Yongsan Observatory reveals the round S-curve of the channel at sunset.
Wetlands, bamboo forests, tree-lined roads and green tea fields make Jeollanam-do an easy place to slow down.
